Our composite gate boards are ultra-low maintenance, not only that, you’re helping the planet too! Made from 90% recycled material, our wood and plastic composite gate boards do not fade or warp and other than a light clean occasionally, require no ongoing treatments to keep them looking like new.
With 5 colours in the range to choose from, you can opt for a traditional wood pattern board, or, go for a fresh, contemporary feel with our stunning range of greys and black.
For your peace of mind, we back our composite boards with a 10 year warranty.
Yes, unlike many other suppliers, the composite boards have the 3D woodgrain effect on both sides of the board. When installed in to your gate, they will look just as good from both sides!
You can cut the boards to size as required using a regular handsaw or circular saw. Just make sure you are using a fine blade suitable for wood and composite material. With the increasing popularity of composite gate boards, most blades now state this material on the packaging.
The composite gate boards are designed to be inserted in to a pre-fabricated frame to sandwich the boards together. This method gives a clean, modern & professional finish to your gate installation.
The other way to attach the boards is by bolting through them using galvanized coach bolts. This can be a great way to attach the boards if you don’t want a heavy metal frame surround.
Please be aware that you must pre-drill the holes for the bolts accurately or you may split the material. Also, don’t over-tighten the nuts, this could cause visible crush damage to the boards.
They are simply connected with loose fitting tongue & groove – there is no need for an adhesive between the boards. The frame or bolting method you are using to construct your gates will hold them in position.
There is very minimal expansion with the composite planks but we do still advise leaving a 3mm gap around the edges.
When planks are used vertically, we recommend using spacers in the bottom of the frame of your gate to elevate them from the bottom of the frame. This prevents the boards sitting directly in collected water.
No problem at all. You must pilot drill for screws as the boards may crack and bolts obviously must be fully pre-drilled before insertion.
You get a 12 month warranty as standard on all of our products. You can increase your warranty up to ten years by activating your warranty here within 28 days of purchase – Warranty Activation.

Just use a mild detergent and a soft brush to clean down your composite planks. If a more thorough clean is required then a regular household jet washer can be used.
